Payment & Cancellation Policy
-
Session fees are payable by Interac e-transfer (to be received prior to the session, either the day before or the day of the session, at the latest an hour prior to the session).
If credit card is your preferred method of payment, a $5 processing fee will be added to your session fee.
-
Please provide 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. When a client cancels without giving enough notice, it takes up the spot of another client who could have had the chance of being seen.
As such, the full fee of the session is charged for missed appointments or late cancellations, except for emergencies or extenuating situations. Your appointment will still need to end on time if you are late for your appointment.
Crime Victims Assistance Program
-
CVAP assists victims, immediate family members and some witnesses in coping with the effects of violent crime. It provides financial benefits to help offset financial losses and assist in recovery. We are an approved provider offering counselling and psychotherapy services to victims and survivors, immediate family members and witnesses affected by crime. We provide direct billing to CVAP.
-
You will be asked to provide all claim details on our intake/consent form. CVAP limits compensation of counselling sessions to $135.00. As such, clients will be required to pay a user fee for the remainder of the session fee. Payment for the user fee portion of the session will be required prior to the session (either the day prior or the day of session, at least an hour prior to the session).
Insurance Coverage & Direct Billing
-
Our services are usually covered by extended health benefits. Please confirm whether Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC) and Canadian Certified Counsellors (CCC) are covered under your benefits plan prior to booking an appointment.
If we are unable to direct bill your insurance provider, we will provide a receipt that you can use for extended health reimbursement.
-
If your plan allows RCCs and CCCs to direct bill, we will be glad to set this up for you.
We are able to direct bill to Pacific Blue Cross, Medavie Blue Cross (VAC Program) FNHA, insurance companies partnered with Telus Eclaims, CVAP and ICBC. If your extended health plan does not cover the full session fee, any remaining balance will be billed to you.
First Nations Health Authority Provider
-
We are an approved FNHA Mental Health Benefits Program provider and are able to provide direct billing to FNHA.
Please note that a predetermination claim must be approved before you schedule your first counselling session.
In order for us to apply for predetermination on your behalf, please provide us with your date of birth, full name and status number during the 20-minute free consultation call and/or on the intake/consent form.
-
This approval process can take anywhere from up to a few days to 2-3 weeks after we submit the application to FNHA.

-
ICBC covers up to $157 of counselling sessions. As such, clients will be required to pay a user fee for the remainder of the session fee.
